Body Confidence

Hi everyone.

Today, I want to talk about Body Confidence; it's one of my favorite things to discuss and I think it's very important to discuss as well. I'm hoping future generations will not have to go through the same tormenting and self doubt about their bodies as we did. A lot of us, in past generations, grew up looking at unrealistic ideas of beauty and health. They would tell us that if you were bigger than a certain size that you weren't beautiful and that you weren't healthy; you were gross and needed to fix yourself to have this look that they were selling us. Thankfully, I think that my generation (out of the many before us) has had an easier time than others when going through this and I think that we have had more people that didn't fit the mold, who let us know that it was okay to be different; that you were still beautiful and you could still be a perfectly healthy individual.

One thing to remember is that you cannot tell a persons health by merely looking at them. You have no idea what may be underlying in them whether it’s regular health or mental health or different abilities; not everything can be seen. Because of that, you should never judge someone based on what you think is going on in their life, because you aren't them.

Another thing to remember is that your size should never have anything to do with finding love. Love is an emotion and if someone loves you, they are not going to pick apart the way you look. Love is not something you see directly in your face, it’s something you feel in your heart and soul. Please, do not ever worry that your body will keep you away from love, because it won’t.

The last thing I want to bring up is that the things that make you different are beautiful and unique. The best part about being human is that no one is exactly like another. We all have things that make us different and they make us who we are. We would not be ourselves without our uniqueness. Some people have freckles or different nose shapes or peach fuzz; those things make you—you—and you should never be ashamed of them.

I hope that we all are confident in our bodies because they are everything and they keep us going and we should appreciate them.

Have a lovely day.

xx Mad
